Obi is getting super scarce. These shortages that we are experiencing are no longer seasonal. We used to celebrate in April (New Season for Kola Nut) because we knew Obi would be Plentiful & BEAUTIFUL. It's almost May and obi is SCARCE and EXPENSIVE.
Without venturing down a rabbit hole, which I can easily do, I'll give you the short of it. More Isese practitioners + Cutting down of Obi farms due to "PROGRESS" = Less Obi. Add to the fact that shipping has tripled in the last 5 years, things are interesting. If things don't change soon, in less than 5 years one Kola will be at LEAST $7-$10 each. Sounds crazy, huh?
I am diligently working with some folks on a solution and we may need a full community effort on this one. I'll keep you posted.
Here's what we are doing in the meantime @ KOLA GROVE:
Kola Grove will not be accepting any new subscriptions until we can source more kola.
We will open the site back up for obi purchase TODAY with small amounts of inventory.
There is a price increase in Obi effective immediately (Subscribers, this does not affect you. We will keep your subscription the same for you as long as we can.)
We have plenty of Obi in stock right now, but 90% of it is taped obi and we cannot guarantee non taped obi. .
IMPORTANT FOR EVERYONE INCLUDING SUBSCRIBERS :If you do not want to risk the chance of having your regular orders or your monthly come with mostly or ALL taped Obi, DO NOT PURCHASE. As always, subscribers get first dibs and I will do my best to accommodate as many as possible with non-taped obi.
